Abstract

Solar energy is one of the renewable energy. The development of renewable energy is taken as one of the most effective ways by reducing fossil fuels usage to address global warming and environmental issues. Nowadays, large-scale solar farms are rapidly increased in size and number across the world. But we have little understanding to the solar farm impact on local climate for long run. In this study, we use one-year-round observation data to explore the effect of solar farm on local climate. The results reveal that the solar farm in desert/gobi ,as a whole, has positive impact on the local climate.
