Abstract

The map of radiation focused near the focal plane of an innovative parabolic-spherical dish will be presented. Flux measurements is obtained by normalizing the images taken with a digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera on the peak intensity. The approach here presented in a real case application provides pixel values of radiation for the receiver plane using as refence value for the gray scale a picture to the sun at a known value of DNI measured by a pyrheliometer. The point focusing technology has been designed and manufactured from the sketch. It consists of an novel dish of 8,6m in diameter, whose reflector is made of glass mirrors and has a focal distance of about 4,5m. The dish profile is the innovative part of this facility where the mirrors have been designed in order to reduce manufacturing costs. The inner part of the receiver consists in a spherical shape profile and the external part is representing a parabolic profile.
