Control Strategy Design for a Packed-Bed Thermochemical Heat Storage Reactor
Abstract
A thermochemical reactor design for high-temperature heat storage in a combined sensible/thermochemical storage system for CSP applications is presented. The primary objective of controlling the heat transfer fluid outflow temperature is discussed. Using Simulink, a simplified model was constructed as a rapid-iteration testbed for controller design. After principal verification of the feasibility of such a controller, it was implemented in a verified simulation representing the complete mathematical model of the storage. Good agreement between the two implementations was observed.
