Abstract

In renewables sources energy storages are essential to reduce the mismatch between power supply and demand. This work presents a review of fluidized bed technology used for energy storage in power plants. The distinct technologies, particles and processes are showed and analyzed in order to determine the best model to be implemented in a CSP plant. This study presents the publications results of fluidized bed reservoirs over the last decades. Focused on researches about technologies which fit on CSP applications, contemplating high temperature and the possibility to absorb heat directly from the solar field the results are showed and best practices are discussed. Keywords: Energy storage; Fluidized Bed; Concentrating Solar Power.
