Abstract

Phase change materials (PCMs) incorporated into building integration of photovoltaics (BIPVs) for regulating the PV temperature rising and effective storing the heat from Air source Heat Pump (ASHP) to meet the demand side requirement are becoming ever-growing factor for installing renewable energy to building heating system. A two dimensional temperature based finite volume numerical simulation model has been developed and experimentally validated for PCM energy store and temperature regulation on PV. A detailed theoretical investigation and analysis of solar energy production and storage control in buildings with ASHP combination have been carried out. The dynamic performance of renewable energy integrated to the building has been predicted with the realistic ambient conditions and ASHP operation conditions.
