Abstract

This work summarizes a non–dimensional performance analysis of a small-scale humidification- dehumidification system (HDH) driven by hybrid photovoltaic-thermal (PV/T) solar collectors for water desalination. A model was developed, starting from the effectivenesses of the components and the operating parameters, namely the feed water to air mass flow rate ratio (MR) and the fresh water to feed water mass flow rate recovery ratio (RR), to simply analyze the behavior of the system and find the optimal working conditions in a generalized formulation.
