Photovoltaic Microgrid Emulator for Educational Purposes
Abstract
Nowadays, there is an important question about changing energy sources in order to provide a cleaner and sustainable way of energy production and consumption. Many industries and dwellings are currently using private solar installations, for self-consumption or grid compensations, among other situations, due to the costs reduction though the time and due to environmental reasons. Photovoltaic systems, including batteries, play a key role in these installations, which, in general terms, must be also considered as part of the emerging distributed and smart energy generation schemes. This work describes an educational resource developed for the UAL engineering studies aiming to ease, throughout a direct and instrumental approach, the learning on the dynamic processes of charge interchange underlying these installations.
