Novel Hybrid GWO–IC Based MPPT Technique for PV System Under Partial Shading Conditions
Abstract
This study introduces a hybrid MPPT algorithm which is based on Grey Wolf Optimization and Incremental Conductance (GWO-IC) technique that can detect the global peak correctly under any environmental changes. The proposed hybrid-MPPT technique is simulated for a 1 kW PV system under different shading patterns using Matlab/Simulink environment. The proposed technique is compared with conventional P&O, IC and GWO MPPT methods for its validation. The simulation results clearly indicate that the proposed hybrid MPPT exhibits higher tracking efficiency (>99%), faster convergence to the GP with minimal time (<0.1s) and negligible oscillations around MPP
