One-Minute Assessment of Photosynthetic Active Solar Radiation (PAR) Models in Uruguay
Abstract
Photosinthetic active radiation (PAR) is the global solar radiation in the spectral interval of 400-700 nm. This spectral portion is used for photosynthesis and its characterization in a given region is relevant for agricultural production. In this work, the first assessment in Uruguay of PAR empirical models is reported. Four models are locally implemented and evaluated using 4 years of high quality 1-minute data recorded at Salto, Uruguay. These models are evaluated in their original and locally adjusted forms. The constant model, commonly used in agronomical practice, is used as a baseline.
