Optimal Conceptual Design of a Novel Façade-Integrated Adsorption Cooling System
Abstract
In this work, a façade-integrated solar powered adsorption cooling system is designed. This system consists of the adsorber, condenser and evaporator, whereas the adsorber and condenser are integrated into the individual façade sides. Validated by experimental investigations and detailed CFD simulations, a Modelica model of the individual façade components is integrated into a building model. The optimal conceptual design is prepared by iteratively investigating different construction and system integration variants. The optimisation of these parameters is based on the objective of operating energy and is subsequently extended to include life cycle assessment.
