Abstract

PVT collector combines a solar thermal collector and a photovoltaic module in a single component, generating power and heat from the same area simultaneously; hence PVT can be a crucial technology for the future energy supply of buildings. The paper presents a simulative comparison (in TRNSYS) of different heat supply systems for the existing state single-family houses. The results show that the PVT - heat pump system can reduce the CO2 emissions up to 49 % (different PVTs with 30 m² areas) compared to condensing gas boiler system. The results also indicate that the PVT - heat pump can achieve higher CO2 emissions reduction than an air-source heat pump. It can decrease up to 25 % and 15 % CO2 emissions compared to the air source heat pump and PV - air source heat pump respectively.
