Modular Refurbishment of Multi-Family Houses with PVT-PCM Heat Pump Systems and Self-Learning Energy Management
Abstract
This paper presents a serial refurbishment concept, especially for multi-family houses, in which the two refurbishment measures are decoupled in time. In the first step, the existing gas boiler is supplemented by a heat pump with PVT collectors and PCM storage. In the second step, the building envelope is renovated. With appropriate sizing and refurbishment, the gas boiler can then be completely eliminated. A predictive, self-learning energy management system ensures the dynamically optimized use of the different energy sources in terms of minimized CO2 emissions and costs. The functionality of the energy manager is investigated and proven on the basis of three properties. In a simulation study, a typical renovation process of a multi-family house is shown in two steps.
