Modelling and Experimental Verification of an Unglazed Metal Facade Collector Model
Abstract
The paper presents a theoretical model capable of simulating the energy performance of an unglazed metal façade collector (UMFC). Different configurations of UMFC were developed and experimentally tested to perform a verification process. The verification process demonstrates that there is a good agreement between the simulated and experimentally obtained results. The model was originally developed in C++ programming language and consequently integrated into TRNSYS simulation software as a new simulation component to perform a whole year simulation analysis of complex solar systems.
