Parametric Study of Structured Thermocline Storage Systems
Abstract
In this work, a design of a thermocline heat storage tank is modelled using a coupled conjugated heat transfer solver with the finite volume method approach. The model is capable of evaluating the storage tank capacity, period of operation and temperatures reached, among other parameters. The model is used to perform a parametric study changing geometric and operational conditions in order to determine how the parameters influence the result, and chose the best combination of them for having an optimal design.
