Multi-Objective Optimization of Residential Building Design for Immigrant Resettlement in the Tibetan Plateau: A Case Study of Ankang Community

Abstract

The Tibetan Plateau's extreme climate conditions pose unique challenges to residential building design, particularly for immigrant resettlement projects. This study focuses on the heating season energy efficiency, thermal comfort, and solar radiation acquisition potential of residential buildings in Ankang Community, exploring multi-objective optimization methods. Using the Multi-objective Grey Wolf Optimizer, a model was developed that integrates and simultaneously optimizes key building design parameters. The resulting Pareto-optimal solution set was then analyzed through multiple linear regression to reveal the underlying influence mechanisms. Findings highlight the south-facing window-to-wall ratio as a critical control parameter, while trade-offs are needed for variables like floor-to-floor height ratio due to conflicting goals.
