R&D Activities on Photovoltaics at CNEA - Argentina
Abstract
The Solar Energy Department (DES) of the National Atomic Energy Commission (CNEA) has been developing R&D photovoltaic (PV) activities from several decades, addressed both to space and terrestrial applications. These activities include the development of device characterization techniques, design, simulation, testing and integration of solar panels for space applications, development and fabrication of PV radiometers for solar radiation characterization, and the instrumentation of PV systems for distributed generation applications. In this work, various particular issues are reviewed, focused on devices and systems devoted to the solar resource evaluation and energy generation. After a brief introduction of the DES historical research lines, latest results on solar sensors and PV systems projects are presented.
